My Story
The short version
I have lived in 4 countries (Sweden, Italy, US and UK) and 4 US states (NY, PA, UT, and HI). I am fluent in Swedish and English at the native level with intermediate skills in Spanish. I hold dual citizenship in Sweden and the US and am currently (and for the forseeable future) located in Stockholm, Sweden. I have worked in marketing, business development, and content creation for 9 years.

The longer version
I was born in Lund, Sweden and lived there until I turned 8. My mother is Swedish and my father is American. My father got a job in Rome, Italy and so we moved. I attended the American Overseas School of Rome (AOSR), which had an American curriculum and I was faced with textbooks and homework for the first time. After 3 years, my mother landed a job at New York University (NYU) where she ultimately worked as a professor and chair for 19 years, and so we moved to NYC. I attended 5th grade through 12th in NYC and Carlisle, PA, attended the Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) as a freshman (first year undergraduate) after which I transferred to NYU Gallatin School of Individualized Study. I crafted my own major in International Relations with a focus on human rights and American exceptionalism. It was fascinating stuff but after working a year after college as a paralegal at an international law firm (with my biggest case being the biggest bankruptcy in US history), and after being accepted to George Washington Law School in Washington, D.C., I quickly realized law (and politics) was not for me.

I began working in marketing at BlueVoyant, which at the time was a 5-month-old cybersecurity startup and has since grown to a multimillion dollar and Nasdaq-listed business. What followed have been years in marketing, focusing mainly on content but with some lead generation and product marketing work as well. My love of storytelling, however, needs a more creative outlet and so I became active in videography and video editing. I have written short stories, poems, and autobiographical stories my whole life but this time I wanted to delve into visual storytelling. I applied to graduate school at The New School, which not only accepted me but offered me the President's Scholarship due to my excellent grade point average (GPA) at NYU (3.79/4.0, cum laude). There, I studied digital cinema production and media management, working with student directors, producers, editors, sound engineers, cinematographers, gaffers, writers, etc. while also working full time (except for one semester of taking 4 classes and needing a part-time job).

My aim now is to combine my creative and business analysis skills in a way that ultimately expands either my own or an organization's storytelling efforts (or both!).

I have perfect pitch, played the violin for 9 years and have studied music, recording technology, composed music and taken voice lessons.
I am simultaneously fascinated by, yet cautious of, AI. I am also interested in learning more about any bias LLMs might be built upon.
I am a grammar and punctuation fiend. I once edited a newspaper article in red with the intention to send the article back to the editor. I refrained.
I love writing, reading Russian literature and all kinds of lore and mythology, playing games and watching crime TV shows (especially "Nordic noire").
